There are two well known Etihad Stadiums.

The one that we share with just about every other club in Victoria.

Then there is the other one- the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, England. This is the sole home of Manchester City.It is the sponsored name of the City of Manchester Stadium, which is where the 2002 Commonwealth Games were held. After the games were completed this new stadium was converted into a football ground and Manchester City moved from their traditional home at Maine Road to the City of Manchester Stadium.

Manchester City last night beat top of the table Arsenal 6-3 at 'The Etihad Stadium' as I hear commentators refer to the place. A few weeks ago at 'The Etihad' they beat Arsenal's local rivals from North London- Tottenham Hotspur 6-0. A few weeks before that they beat Norwich City 7-0 at 'The Etihad' Some weeks before that Man City could only manage to score 4 goals when they defeated their local rivals Manchester United at 'The Etihad'

The moral of this, is that I hope Footscray can score (comparatively for Aussie Rules and soccer) the truck load of goals at our shared home 'Etihad Stadium' just like Manchester City do at their sole 'Etihad Stadium' home.
