Well welcome aboard cogdog- Alan Mannix as a player was before my time so I can't provide a first hand personal account, sadly he played in an era that never produced a final for him- arriving after 1961 and departing before 1974.

However he did play in a night Premiership for Footscray- that is some consolation that the blokes of the late 1960's did see some tangible success. However Alan was there in 1967 and also kicked a goal in that Grand Final victory over South Melbourne.

Pleased to learn that Alan Mannix was kind to your father when your dad represented the Footscray little league in the early 1970's.
