Would be great if they let us wear it on the last Saturday in September (2008 that is)

The jumper looked absolutely beautiful. For the one billionth time I would say it should be worn for ALL games. The namby-pamby 'YAWNING CAT' guernsey just has to go. It must sub-consciously give the players an inferiority complex.
Some nuff nuffs will come up with the "we lost in that jumper, so get rid of it"
Maybe we should have done a Manchester United# and changed guernseys at half time- the namby pamby 'Yawning Cat jumper reflected the way we played (or actually didn't play) in that second half. It would have been appropriate wearing that joke in the 2nd half.
As for the shorts- well it was historically accurate- we (as all clubs did back then) wore black shorts for home games and white shorts away. It probably would have been better if the Northern Blues wore their home shorts and we wore white shorts. Footscray wore white shorts in the 1954 Grand Final - but again it was a true representation of the pre 1975 era, so we can't complain about that.
# Manchester United changed their shirt during an away game against Southampton in the 1990's at halftime. It was evidently confusing the players.

I loved the jumper and wish we would play in it all the time. It looked fantastic and really was red, white and blue.
