Maybe our pronunciation of the 'd' word will be different?- Whilst the two Western Australians clubs refer to their fixture as a 'Western Derby' with the second word sounding as it is spelt- maybe our game with our fellow eastern state cousins from Sydney will be known as the Western 'Darby' as in Darby Munro?
So the Western Australians have the Western 'Derby'
us two Eastern staters will have the Western 'Darby'
What a rivalry that will be-
"Our west is better than your west"
in a few years time this clash of the westerns will rival the passion of a NSW/Queensland State of Origin Rugby League event.
The advertisments and promotions leading up to it could feature 'The Good The Bad and The Ugly theme, followed by or before with 'The Magnificent Seven' theme.
Bring on 2012 when they join the competition, can't we just skip through 2011?- I want to sleep through 2011, it is like what December 23 and December 24th are for a child who can't wait for Santa Claus coming down the chimney on Christmas Day.

That there are now two clubs branded western has irked some Bulldogs supporters, who continue to contact media outlets in Melbourne pushing for their club to again be called Footscray. The Bulldogs changed their name before the 1997 season.
Smorgon, who has agreed to remain Bulldogs president for another three years, is adamant the name will stay.
''I have heard it. I can assure you it ain't going to happen,'' he said. ''There are a couple of people involved. They won't give their names, we don't even know if they are members. But they keep on talking on the websites and whatever about the Bulldogs changing their name.
''I can assure you I am being re-elected unopposed for three years, and that's not on my platform.''
Why, Caveman, is Smorgon talking about you?
And what do we and GWS actually have in common? Footscray's been around for over a century and is deeply rooted in its community, GWS is a franchise dreamed up by the AFL which may or may not ever become accepted by the people of Western Sydney (although I think that the AFL did learn a few things from the 80s Sydney Swans saga, and are trying to fall into the same traps).
Also, Giants and orange? Were they watching the world series and became fans of Brian Wilson's beard?

Surely they know who their members are? My old man got his membership card for 2011 with contains all of his details, before I have even paid for it, so I can't believe that they wouldn't know who their members are.(I haven't opened mine yet, will do so today)
As for who are these people on websites- there are a few people I see on football websites and wonder who they possibly might be? I often wonder if they are directors of Western Bulldogs? Say for example- someone was an Everly Brothers fan and they went by the name of 'Wake up little Lucy' instead of what the real name in the song was? That person could be a club director? Could be anyone couldn't it? How would we know?
As for Smorgons comment about "the Bulldogs changing their name"- well that is a freudian slip because that is not the case- the word involved is the 'Western' but we aren't interested in changing, we are committed to reverting back to Footscray
Now to Brian Wilson- the giant. He should have won his Brownlow for us.
But a good photo. The Giants v The Bulldogs. Jack from Sydney v Sydney (spelling?) from Melbourne
