Mark Thompson has gone to Essendon- that was his old club. So he has returned to where he started back in the mid 1980's.

Will make for another interesting fixture for the Country Cats when they take on the Western Bombers. This might be bigger than when they play the West Gold Coast.

Just on the subject of Mark Thompson there is a new sub-chapter that springs from the FNWB TRIVIA chapter. It is about Grtand Final coaches from 1925-2010 and what theri given names are. The 2007 Grand Final was played out between 'Bomber' Thompson and 'Choco' Williams. What is seemingly forgotten is what both of these blokes given name is. Both had the same one- Mark.

Anyhow this sub-chapter which should be finished soon lists the given names of all coaches from Grand Finals from when Footscray (as well as North Melbourne and Hawthorn) entered the VFL competition in for the 1925 season. So some examples are -

1954 Charlie and Norm
1967 Tom and Peter
1994 Mal and Michael

Should be completed soon

He has wrecked his reputation. He should have been honest to say he wanted to return to the bombers rather than pretending he was burnt out. If I barracked for Geelong I would be very disappointed in him.

I agree. He'd get more respect if he just said that he wanted to return to "his club".
