We can beat Sydney and here is another omen aside from when St Kilda make the finals in the same season we do.

In 1985 and 1992 we were beaten in the first week by Hawthorn and Geelong respectively. So in the next games we fronted up to North Melbourne and St Kilda. In 1985 we had already beaten North Melbourne twice in the home and away season and in 1992 ditto for St Kilda. Sydney is in the same position, having lost both games to us this season.

Then again er in 1994 we beat Melbourne twice in the home and away season and well er ........... we didn't make it a hatrick against them in that season as we had in 1985 with North Melbourne and 1992 with St Kilda.

Oh well I guess I had better stick with the St Kilda in the finals argument. However 24 hours from now, we will all know.

You were 100% right there Caveman with your St Kilda theory and the three times in the one year. But can we beat the cats?

If this year Footscray v Sydney was the first time a team has defeated another 3 times in one season in 3 different cities?

A good observation there DMcG and definitely a correct one.

So yes the first time ever that this has happened. Three victories in three different cities in the one year.
