Happy Year everyone.

It was 60 years ago in 1955 that the Premiership Flag of 1954 was unfurled at home against Richmond on Round 1 of 1955.

It was 90 years ago in 1925 that Footscray entered the then named VFL crossing over from the VFA as the reigning Premiers

It was 40 years ago in 1975 that Footscray introduced a new guernsey- the red and white bands gone for a red band in between two narrow white ones. Plus the red shorts instead of black ones

It was 80 years ago in 1935 that Footscray introduced a new guernsey- the one season only, complicated mish- mash looking jumper. It was replaced for the old one in 1936.

Lordy, forty years since they (the mythical, proverbial "they") changed our jumper.  At least we have that back.  Let's hope it doesn't take forty years to get our name back.

Yes for sure, though the current jumper is still a little bit NQR. The bands need to be wider and no part of the number(s) should appear/encroach on the bands!

It needs a red collar and while changing that- make sure the socks are also properly multi-coloured.

One more thing- when playing the three blue and white teams- lets where red shorts. So when up against the Country Cats, Northern Blues and Northern Kangaroos- just where red shorts. May as well do it for Fremantle as well, probably also the Eastern Magpies  and one of the other west clubs from the real west- put simply teams that don't sport red, we should wear red shorts against them. This is the beauty of being a tri-coloured club, we can alter the smaller things around (ie the shorts and socks) without needing to alter the actual jumper. The Footscray Guernsey should be sacred, there should be no need for us to wear away/clash jumpers from a club like us that has three colours in its uniform.

Here here.

I don't if it's just confirmation bias affecting my judgement, but it always seems to be that we lose whenever we wear that damned white jumper.

I remember the red collars.  Nobody seems to wear collars any more, but I suppose we could have a red band around the neck.  Our real socks would be good too.

Why didn't the Eastern Tigers wear their proper guernsey on Saturday afternoon? For that reason alone I have labelled them the Eastern Tigers instead of the R word,

I thought the yellow sash over the black background was the big identity with them however they had some marketing tiger on their jumper.
