Interested to learn that high profile footballer Harry O'Brien has legally changed his name to Heritier Lumumba.

His 'what is now new' name Lumumba is his biological father's surname- O'Brien was the surname of his step-father.

I support him in doing this, if this is what he wants. It is his name he can do what he likes he is an adult over the age of 18. No one else changed it for him unlike our situation here as Footscray supporters

What makes this interesting now is how will they write his name in the two and a half Grand Finals (2010 and replay 2011) that he played in for the Eastern Magpies?

So how will Collingwood team be written up by their player names in future books as:

Dawes, Didak, Jolly, Lumumba, Reid, Shaw, Thomas, Wellingham?

Because we keep getting how Doug Hawkins played 329 games for the Western Bulldogs and that Mitch Wallis' father Steven Wallis played 261 games for the Western Bulldogs. Neither played one game for the Western Bulldogs, however the Footscray word must never be mentioned, if you must say they played for the bulldogs just don't mention Footscray.
