Here's a book that I might buy: "Footy's Glory Days", by Elliott Cartledge. It's about the VFL from the late 60s to the early 80s. Why should I buy it? I read a "preview" on Amazon, and right at the start the author wrote "For the purposes of historical accuracy, clubs, venues and organisations are referred to by original titles only. Hence, there is no mention in the text of the 'Western Bulldogs', only, and proudly, 'Footscray'". That does it for me!

That's won me over if I really needed to be. I bought his book about Richmond and the Hafey Years and thought it was brilliant, so well written and he didn't use "Western" or "The Bulldogs" when mentioning Footscray during that Hafey era at Richmond.

Will certainly buy that book- thanks for the heads up Lisbon.
