How emotional and enthralling it was watching the English soccer finale and Manchester City claiming the trophy. They last won it in 1968 which is a fair while ago, though not as long as 1954Posted Image

Anyhow when the official presentation was made on the field- the blokes that won it back in 1968 for Manchester City were also paraded onto the ground - Tony Book, Mike Summerbee, Francis Lee as what seemed like a rite of passage handover.

Sadly some of their great old names are no longer with us like- Mike Doyle and Neil Young.

So when we eventually win it- that is what I want to see. So hopefully our men from 1954 Charlie Sutton, Dave Bryden, Harvey Stevens, Don Ross, Angus Abbey, Ron Stockman, Doug Reynolds, Herb Henderson, Jimmy Gallagher and maybe even the limelight avoider Peter Box would be there on the MCG as the Premiership Cup is given across to us.

But it has to be done soon - for obvious reasons.

Great post. So true and also congratulations to Manchester City. Thrilling conclusion and yes it would be wonderful if we could repeat that experience by winning and also having past champions acknowledged and included.
