What a champion Chris Grant has been for Footscray. I will miss him as a player and a true gentlemen of the game. I know Chris Grant does not like a lot of fuss and publicity but I still believe the Melbourne media should have honoured him more. He put his club before money by not going to Port Adelaide and always was approachable and dignified. He played more games for Footscray then any other player and should have won a brownlow. Ian Collins, we will never forgive you for denying this great his brownlow! I truly believe Chris was one of the best players to play the game and injury stopped him from being even better. All Footscray supporters will miss seeing Chris play and will wish him all the very best for the future.

A champion and a modest one- the best type of champion that can be, opposition fans will tend to not like a big head, but Grant being a shy bloke was universally admired and respected by the football world.

He gave the club great service- could have gone elsewhere but always declined those invitations.

Sad that he has gone, not just for his play but also the era that he represented that can never return. Chris Grant played for Footscray at Windy Hill, Moorabbin, Morphetville, (well Victoria Park) Waverley not to mention the Western / Whitten Oval of course.
