Just imagine that a 'never wrong' Clairvoyant (or for another name, a Nostradamus) stated before the start of this season that the Premiers in 2007 would be a club that hadn't won it for at least 40 years.

Another point would be that the President of the Premiers was one of the longest serving Presidents in the game - a bloke who had been in control at this team since the 1990's

Then consider that this wizard of a Clairvoyant also advised that the receipient of the Norm Smith medal for best player on the ground, would be in the winning team and he would be a bloke named Johnson?

You could also narrow it down further that the Premiers would be one of the teams in the Western v Geelong game in Round 1 at the Doglands. The match where 8 goals was kicked by a bloke named Johnson, the same surname as the bloke who will be the winner of the Norm Smith Medal in the last game of the season.

Another point would be that the President of the Premiers was one of the longest serving Presidents in the game- a bloke who had been in control at this team since the 1990's

Two other teams that haven't won a Premiership for over 40 years have a Johnson in their team- well one is spelt differently but sounds very similar- Travis Johnstone of Melbourne. Geelong have a player called Johnson but he is serving an exile from the club until he can sort out a few off field problems. He won't play until the seaon is well and truly underway this Geelong, Johnson bloke. So it won't be any of those blokes- one has a different spelling and the other is drying out somewhere away from his club. So the Norm Smith medallist has to be the club captain of his team- club captains or high profile players do well in the Norm Smith- Hird, Shaw, Buckley were captains that won it.

Most people would believe that the Premiers would be the Footscray then wouldn't they, or should I say Western Bulldogs?

Very clever. I hope that next year we will be the premiers and I would love Brad Johnson to win the medal. Anyway, congratulations to Geelong supporters. You deserve to celebrate your great win.

Time is against Brad Johnson sadly- he was born in 1976 so that makes him 31 going on 32. Two years left maybe three for him to achieve what his 12th cousin did for the Country Cats.
