It is highly likely that the 'Western Bulldogs' will finish in the bottom four. Should the Central Demons win a few more- then we will probably be 16th like we were in 2003.

Some people want to get rid of the coach. 'Paul' doesn't have a great deal to work with, sacking him would be pointless.

The club is in real strife- OFF the field as well. That MUST be sorted out.

We have a President heading into what he expects will be his last year in charge in 2013. If he is not challenged in any way- it will be his final year.

So in other words 2013 will be his 'Lap of Honour' year like what politicians have before the next election that they themselves are not contesting. We need a leader who is 100% focused on the club- not someone in holiday mode. This is especially relevant now with the debt increasing, the attendances dropping and the membership stagnant.

We don't have to have a smooth transition- we just need a transition.

Totally agree Caveman. We need a president who is passionate about the job, not just seeing it out. It bothers me that he can never mention the name Footscray, not even when Charlie Sutton died. The name Footscray is like poison to him.

Probably is poison to him as this quote from 1996 so memorably pointed out to us all

Matters were brought to a head when David Smorgon sought to justify the club's change of name in what Deborah Gough interpreted as a 'tirade of insults aimed at the [Footscray] area and its community'.

What do you think of when you think of Footscray? Underprivileged, third-rate, not good enough, lacking success … That does not convey the spirit that's in the [wider] western region.24

Right now anyone and everyone could say the same again almost 16 years later. Just change one word for two as shown below

What do you think of when you think of WESTERN BULLDOGS? Underprivileged, third-rate, not good enough, lacking success … That does not convey the spirit that's in the [wider] western region.24
