Two articles in today's Age newspaper.

On Page 43 there is a look back at 1985 written by Peter Hanlon. Directly opposite on Page 42, John Pierek discusses how the club is disappointed with the attendances this year.

Well right now is the time to change the name back to Footscray. It is obvious that former Footscray player Luke Beveridge is a good coach. The team is exciting, neutrals and opposition fans enjoy watching us. So end this name nonsense right because, who is going to drop off now if we reverted back to Footscray? What member is going to give the club away because we are ditching Western Bulldgs or The Bullogs or Bulldogs when they are now back in the running for a shot at a Premiership?

Is anyone complaining that we are no longer wearing the "yawning cat" Guernsey? Who wants it back?

So in are a really good season we need to pick up support and the best way is to win back those exiled - because there will be no one dropping off when the name is back as Footscray, doing this would never lose many if any,

Especially when the team is doing so well.
