I wonder what is happening with the promised Jack Collins tribute ?
This was promised in 2008 and has never eventuated. Now that we have a change of President, does anyone know when this will happen. Is he going to be inducted in our Hall of Fame ? He deserves a lot more respect from our club as is a legend who seems to have been almost ignored which is unforgivable.
Jack Collins - When will our club honour him ?

There was never going to be anything named after Jack Collins whilst the previous President was there.
This is a quite like the situation that has now come to light in today's THE AGE about how at the Eastern Magpies a former player (Ron Todd) was allegedly deprived entry into their Team of the Century due to someone on the selection panel, carrying a grudge against him.
Maybe Peter Gordon might look into this, there is more chance of him doing it that the billionaire.

I am not familiar with the rift there. Care to explain?
One of the great names in our history, it'd be a terrible shame for him not to get the respect and recognition he deserves.

The goal kicking award for the season used to be named after Jack Collins. However his public annoyance over the name change, resulted in the previous President going cold on him & his name by stealth was eroded from this. Part of the John Gent Stand had a section named for Jack Collins, yet the transformation of that stand saw his name erased as the stand became a different looking structure.
