So it's goodbye to her delusions of having escaped the hooligans of her native England, then :P ! Don't forget to chant "Rodney Eade's tricolour army", " Žere we go, 'ere we go, 'ere we go" and, of course, "are you watching, Collingwood?". And give a few shouts for me, will you?

"We are by far the greatest team the world has ever seen"

or even worse

"Who ate all the pies"

"We are by far the greatest team the world has ever seen" is funny only when chanted by the fans of the club that's dead last, 34 points adrift, during a game played under heavy snow in the middle of winter, as an exercise in gallows humour.

Chants that I personally like include "it's just like watching Brazil", as sung by the fans of Barnsley, of all people, and, of course, "can your chairman bend a spoon?", which was chanted in a mock-triumphant way by the Exeter support at the opposition fans during the "heady" days when Uri Geller (mr. spoonbender himself) was club chairman and Michael Jackson (yes, THAT Michael Jackson) was on the Exeter board of directors. Needless to say, it all ended in tears, with Exeter ending up relegated from the League.

Still, Exeter now can boast that 1) the Brazilian national team's first ever game was against Exeter (watch out. Barnsley) and 2) they had the weirdest ever "celebrity board of directors" (Geller-Jackson-David Blaine). You may argue that Elton John's years as chairman/ President of Watford could be considered a weirder association between a celebrity and a soccer club, but Elton John is actually a local and a born and bread, dedicated, lifelong Watford fan.

Poor old Reggie Dwight- didn't he have to endure some sick chants

"He's bald, he's...... his .... is up for..........

Well that sentence contained as missing words

(1) The surname of Marcus

(2) The first four letter of the name of the team that used to play at Highbury and now at the Emirates Stadium

and

(3) What you pay your landlord

Actually Elton John's Uncle (Roy Dwight) was a good footballer and also a goalscorer for Nottingham Forest in the 1959 F.A.Cup Final-

Watford were good value for money in the 1980's when Elton John was their main man.

Back to Exeter- well ignore David Beckham, why not

'Bend it like Geller'

It was questioned- do Brazilians sing whilst watching their national team -

'It's just like watching Barnsley'?

:P

If Brazil's fans ever sing "it's just like watching Barnsley", their players should run for cover...
