There above is the whole article and here below are a couple of quotes that have been copied and pasted to here
Dogs president David Smorgon said the club had to meet the issuehead-on. "It's disappointing because it does impact your bottom line,"Smorgon said yesterday. "If you look back at our average attendances through the years,we've slipped back and that's an issue our CEO Simon Garlick and the guys have got to address.
Club chief executive Simon Garlick said of the crowd drop: "It reaffirms our need to embrace and engage the western region and build our supporter group, and we're working hard on that".
To the first quote- I just keep thinking about the desk plate that was in the office of legendary U.S President Harry S. Truman -

Does our president ever take responsibility for anything ? Don't blame Simon Garlick or the board, you are the president, take ownership and change name back to Footscray.

Can't do much about today's result against the Eastern Hawks.

New Mexico is a fair way from the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne. Certainly a good time to get away from cold old Melbourne, especially when the team averaged 11 points a quarter today. At least it was under a roof for the always suffering fans who didn't have to endure the worst of the elements
