Well when I first saw that incident where a spectator threw beer over our Brad Johnson -I was disgusted

(1) What a waste of a drink- the culprit must have heaps of money to be throwing it away?

(2) What was she doing there?- They lost, shouldn't she have be on her way back to Mt Gravatt, Home Farm, Calmanvale or wherever?

(3) The victim was Brad Johnson- a good bloke you don't do it to family man Brad Johnson- it wasn't Fevola, or Didak etc

(4) The victim was Brad Johnson- the last Footscray player- you don't disrespect the last Footscray player.

Anyhow this article explains how she has apologised to Brad Johnson, so we can cut her some slack. For awhile there I was thinking we should send her to Bali- prisoner swap for Shapelle Corby.

It could have been worse- like that game in the North Western Region Football League (er the Essendon District Football League- they haven't changed their name yet) where some lunatic produces a mallet/hammer?- and used it by the way and I don't mean Ashley Mallett.

Years ago- I reckon it was 1984 at a game at Moorabbin between St Kilda and Richmond- this person sitting on the fence tipped some hot coffee over a player- I think for memory it was a Richmond supporter doing it to a St Kilda player- I will stand corrected if that is wrong- but it was definitely 1984- Graham Gellie had just taken over as St Kilda coach- they lost to Footscray at Footscray the week before- Tony Jewell criticised the club and he was sacked. Some trivia there

Still all in all what a waste of a drink- they weren't even doing the Mexican wave. More money than sense.

She sounds like she genuinely regrets it. I know I have been quite livid after losses and would have done something equally stupid if given the chance.

Good on her for coming forward.

As for 'A waste of Beer' argument. It was probably light beer, possibly even XXXX, so no real biggie. But yeah, more money than sense.

Typical NSWelsh.

I was furious when I saw that incident. I am happy that she has apologized though and is making a donation to charity. People must show more respect to others and I can't understand why anyone would want to throw anything at Brad Johnson. He is such a likeable, decent person as well as a champion player.

Some people have more money than sense- why waste a beer considering goodness knows what the price of it is up at the Gabba.

That is the problem with night sport- be it night cricket, night races, night football- so much of the crowd are half 'Rasputin the Mad Monk' when they get there so they just top up at the event
